Pres. Duterte Not Endorsing Any Presidential Bet in Election 2022

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte revealed the reason why he is not endorsing any presidential bet in the upcoming 2022 Elections.

The 2022 Elections are happening in less than two (2) months and both the local and national campaign periods are ongoing now. The candidates are busy going around different cities and provinces to be able to campaign to as many Filipinos as they can before the campaign period is over.

Amid the upcoming local and national elections fast approaching, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte remains mum on his presidential bet in the upcoming poll. His recent announcement only confirmed his support for the vice-presidential bid of his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

The 77-year-old President stressed that he and Mayor Inday Sara have rough times but a child remains a child and he is endorsing his daughter in the upcoming poll. According to him, the Davao City Mayor is really hardworking and can be very strict but she knows how to talk to people and serve the people in an orderly way.

Mayor Inday Sara is running under Lakas-CMD. She remains hopeful that her father will endorse her and her running-mate, former Senator Bongbong Marcos, as a tandem. He is the standard-bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.

Previously, the President has thrown tirades against Marcos Jr. whom he called a “very weak leader” who is allegedly carried by his surname. The Chief Executive’s political party, PDP-Laban Cusi wing, has earlier endorsed Marcos Jr. as their presidential bet.

Recently, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte revealed the reason why he is not endorsing any presidential candidate in the upcoming election. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the 77-year-old Chief Executive explained that he does not want the public to think that he is using the funds of the government to endorse his bet.

According to Pres. Duterte, he has no candidate for the presidency and he is not politicking. He stressed that he remains neutral with regard to the presidential race in the upcoming election. Furthermore, he expressed that, considering that a president has the resources, it is natural if the people will suspect that you are using the money of the government for the campaign “even if it’s not true”.
