The father of Carla Abellana clarified his past statement
Seasoned actor Rey PJ Abellana, the father of Kapuso actress Carla Abellana, retracted his previous statement against his daughter’s husband actor Tom Rodriguez.
In an interview on veteran showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin’s talk show, Rey PJ was asked about the rumored breakup of Carla and Tom. Although the seasoned actor said that there was no separation that happened, he said that his son-in-law did a mistake.
Rey PJ said that Tom had a one-night stand with another woman. However, the seasoned actor said that he understands the side of his son-in-law as for him, this situation happens to a lot of men like him.
A few days after that controversial statement that Rey PJ Abellana had against the husband of Carla Abellana, he made clarifications. In an interview on GMA’s 24 Oras, he said that there was a rumor that reached the knowledge of his daughter and his son-in-law was able to explain it.
“At first, may nakarating po at nalaman ni Carla na may issue na one-night stand na involved si Tom. Si Tom naman was already able to explain kay Carla na wala naman pong katotohanan ito at naiwasan naman din niya na mangyari yun,” he said.
He stressed that there was no one-night stand that happened, as Tom has said. Rey PJ added that what he said on Cristy’s program was a “shortcut” and was abrupt and so it elicited speculations.
However, during the seasoned actor’s interview on Cristy Ferminute, he opened up about the “one-night stand” when he was asked about the issue of infidelity on Tom Rodriguez’s part.
The father of Carla Abellana said that he can’t really consider it as a third party because it was just a “one-night stand”.
