Rolando Masagnay, 54, of Sitio Liban, Barangay Pampango of the same town, was also stabbed in the abdomen and is being treated at the hospital. The suspect and victim were having a drink at the residence of a Podencio Zonio in the aforementioned barangay on Monday night, according to the first report of the Libacao Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Their discussion shifted to who would be their chicken for the presidency in the upcoming presidential election in May 2022. Former Senator and presidential contender Ferdinand “BongBong” Marcos Jr (BBM) expressed interest in becoming Masagnay’s president. Imarga, on the other hand, was quick to oppose it.
The two men’s debate over the political problem turned heated, and Masagnay chose to return home. Unbeknownst to him, Imarga was still following him, and when he reached out, a knife was thrust into Masagnay’s stomach.
Despite the bleeding, the suspect was able to take the victim’s knife and retaliated with a stab that killed Imarga. The incident is still the subject of an investigation, according to the police.
