Man in Las Piñas City Climbs Electrical Post in Las Piñas City, DRRMO Rescues Him
The rescuers were able to save a desperate man who climbed an electrical post in Las Piñas City with the aim to jump from it.
A 32-year-old man climbed an electrical post in Alabang-Zapote Road in Barangay Talon Uno, Las Piñas City. The breath-taking incident lasts for more than an hour before the tension in the area subsides.
According to the Las Piñas City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO), the victim suffered electrical burns in various parts of his body after he accidentally touched an electrical wire.
The desperate man has been spotted at the post’s crossbeam along Marcos Alvarez Avenue. According to the Las Piñas City Police, the guy tried to jump from the post based on the statement of the residents..
The city deployed a negotiating team, medical team, crowd and traffic control in the area to control the situation. The rescuers prepared various equipment including inflatable air cushion and a man-lift truck.
The incident causes a heavy traffic congestions along Alabang-Zapote Road after the authorities close the other lane to give way to the rescue operation.
After the negotiation, the rescuers were able to save the man before 6:00 pm. The victim was given first aid after the rescue operation. The victim was rushed to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center for medical attention, according to DRRMO.
