Man in Sorsogon Climbs Tower & Attempted to Jump

The video footage of actual rescue operation to save a man who climbed and attempted to jump from a tower in Sorsogon.

The residents of Pilar, Sorsogon went in chaos after an unidentified man climbed an electrical tower. The man stayed atop of the tower and the people have been trying to convince him to get down.

Unfortunately, the guy is not listening to the residents and neglected its own safety.  After a few moments, the man attempted to jump from his spot, which is around 30 feet from the ground.

The rescuers and firemen arrived to save the man but the latter refused to listen, according to BFP Pilar, Sorsogon F/Insp Froilan Evasco. The municipal disaster risk reduction office also helped to conduct the operation.

“Una, Ma’am, hindi talaga mapakiusapan kasi ayaw niya ng may mga taong nanonood. Kaya natagalan doon, kasi ayaw niyang may aakyat. Ayaw niyang may makikitang tao,” Evasco said.

It took almost three hours before the rescuers were able to convince the man to get down after the negotiation succeeds.

MDRRMO makes the negotiation while the Special Rescue Force is stealthily climbing up the tower to rescue the man. The rescuers successfully saved the man with the help of various groups.

The authorities were able to return him back to his family, According to the man’s mother, the latter didn’t sleep for days because of his epilepsy, which might be the reason for his anxiety.

The guy has also visited a psychologist and his mother requested to leave her son under her custody. She also expressed her gratitude towards the rescuers for saving her son.
