Presidential aspirant Leni Robredo supporters “Kakampinks” to boycott Jollibee Foods Corporation following the announcement of being apolitical.

Netizens, particularly Robredo supporters, have expressed their displeasure with Jollibee Corp. after the firm opted not to endorse any candidate in the forthcoming election. The corporation supports a free and fair election, according to their statement.

“Jollibee Foods Corporation and its brands Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Greenwich and Red Ribbon among others, support a clean and fair election and do not endorse any political party or candidate,” the company said in a statement posted on its official Twitter account of Jollibee.

This is where netizens were enraged. Jollibee, in the opinion of some, notably supporters of Vice President Leni Robredo, should follow the lead of certain small enterprises. While some, notably followers of Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., blasted Kakampinks’ acts as another another example of toxic cancel culture, others praised them.

The so-called “Kakampinks” have been chastised online for their position on “cancel culture.” They cancel or boycott those who are against and do not support their presidential candidate, from locals to celebrities.

Supporters demonstrated their elitism by slamming political candidates, particularly their challenger Bongbong Marcos. Despite accusations that their statements painted Robredo in a negative light, “Kakampinks” continued to criticize him.
