COUPLES FOR CHRIST – The International Council of CFC expressed its support to the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo.

The candidates for the May 2022 National Election is currently on the move to visit more Filipinos in the different areas across the country and to campaign. The campaign period started last February 8 with the proclamation rallies of the different bets happening in different areas.

For presidential candidate and Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and her team, their proclamation rally was held in Naga, Camarines Sur. She is running as an independent candidate and she tapped Senator Kiko Pangilinan, the vice presidential bet of the Liberal Party, as her running-mate.

Vice Pres. Leni Robredo gained the support of several groups of professionals including accountants, doctors, veterinarians, and lawyers. Several former chief accountants of the past administrations also back her presidential bid.

The Sumilao farmers in Bukidnon also support the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Robredo. Many leaders of the Catholic church including priests, nuns, and lay ministers have also expressed their support to her.

Recently, the International Council of the Couples for Christ (CFC) lay movement also expressed their support to the presidential bid of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the CFC statement stated that their decision to endorse Robredo came after prayerful immersion and meaningful discussions.

The Couples for Christ International Council clarified that it expects members to go through the process of deciding that includes prayer, discernment, and dialogue. Meanwhile, it assured its members of respect in case of differences in decisions “in the spirit of love and brotherhood”.

The CFC International Council stated that it only asks a commitment to the Christian calling and for its members to be “actively involved in principled politics” taught by the Church.
