A poor grandpa walked several kilometers from his totally damages house all the way to the town to photocopy his ID for cash aid.
A Facebook user named Rhamayzee Milann Caporas has shared the heartbreaking photos of a poor elderly grandpa who walked several kilometers photocopy his ID. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
Caporas was distributing relief goods to the farmers in Cauayan, Negros Occidental when she saw the 80-year-old man identified as tatay Semion Villamera. The old man is walking slowly while holding a staff to assist his move.
Tatay Semion is holding a piece of paper, which is the photocopy of his identification card. The old man explained that it was one of the requirements he needs to submit to get a cash assistance.
Villamera told Caporas that his house has been totally damaged by the flood. The grandpa even showed Caporas his poor situation after the flood destroyed his valuables and other appliances.
The lady netizen provide some relief goods, clothes, and temporary cash assistance for the old man. Tatay Semion also gets emotional and bursts into tears while sharing his story.
Rhamayzee also writes a note and handed it to the old man, which will be submitted to the City Office of Cauayan for cash assistance. Caporas will look for more help to assist the grandpa repair his wrecked home.
