PAGASA Says Amihan to Bring Cooler Weather Over Parts of the Philippines
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cooler weather in various parts of the country.
On Wednesday (January 12, 2022), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon will affect the country’s weather condition.
“Lumakas ang amihan at naaapektuhan din ang Luzon at Visayas, kaya asahan po natin ang malamig na simoy ng hangin dulot nito, kasama na din ang mahihinang pag-ulan,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon and Visayas. Cloudy weather condition with light rains are expected over Batanes and Cagayan including Babuyan Islands.
Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains is expected over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon. Visayas, Occidental Mindoro and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas would also experience similar weather condition due to amihan.
The localized thunderstorms will bring the same weather condition with thunderstorms over the region of Mindanao.
The weather agency said that the Amihan intensified and will bring cooler breeza of air with light rains over Luzon and Visayas. Fair weather condition is also expected over Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao despite the stronger monsoon.
“Dahil sa amihan, makakaranas ng maulap na kalangitan na may mahinang pag-ulan sa Batanes, Cagayan, kasama din ang Babuyan Islands. Sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila ay magiging maganda at maaliwalas ang panahon… Sa Visayas at Mindanao, fair weather po tayo sa araw na ito,” Aurelio added.
