Authorities File Charges Against 4 Cops & Civilian for Stealing P30-M Cash From Japanese Couple
Four cops and their civilian colleague were currently facing charges for allegedly stealing P30 million cash from a Japanese couple.
Nowadays, robbery has been one of the most common types of crimes not only in the Philippines but also in various countries all around the world. Lack of job opportunities and poverty pushed some individuals to commit crime just to earn money.
The police authorities are implementing stricter rules and regulations to reduce the rate of criminality in the country including robbery incidents but crimes continue to grow despite the stricter measure.
Pasig City PNP chief PCol. Roman Arugay reported that four policemen would face robbery charges for allegedly stealing P30 million cash from a Japanese couple at Brgy. Kapitolyo in Pasig City.
The suspects have been identified as SSgt. Jayson Bartolome, Cpl. Merick Desoloc, PCpl. Christian Jerome Reyes and Pat. Kirk Joshua Almojera. The cops were assigned at Taguig City Police Station.
The culprits reportedly connived with the victim’s employee identified as AJ Mary Agnas. The authorities believed that Agnas is the one who leaked the victim’s information to the cop suspects.
Aside from the robbery charges, the involved policemen were also facing administrative charges prompting the high ranking officials to dismiss the suspects from their posts.
Meanwhile, the police authorities launched a manhunt operation to arrest the two other suspects Ferdinand Fallaria of NCRPO and Rowel Galan. One suspect named Jhon Carlo Atienza has passed away during a hot pursuit operation.
