PAGASA Says Northeast Monsoon & Shear Line to Affect PH Weather

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (November 20)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon and shear line would bring cloudy skies and light rains over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (November 20, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and amihan would affect the country’s weather condition.

The northeast monsoon would be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the shear line would affect the eastern section of Southern Luzon.

Amihan would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated light rains over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Benguet and Abra.

Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon would also experience similar weather condition.

The localized thunderstorms are also expected to bring similar weather over Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

“Sa Metro Manila, nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon…[at] sa buong bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao, asahan din po natin na magiging bahagyang maulap hanggang maulap ‘yung kalangitan at ‘yung mga tsansa ng pulo pulong pag-ulan, pagkulob at pagkidlat dulot po iyan ng localized thunderstorms,” PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castaneda said.

The coastal water condition over Northern and central Luzon would be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the archipelago will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
