PAGASA Releases Weather Update for Tuesday (November 16)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Low Pressure Area embedded along ITCZ would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (November 16, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Low Pressure Area embedded along Intertropical Convergence Zone would affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 335 km East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur embedded along the ITCZ. It would affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao while the shear line would affect the eastern section of Southern Luzon.

Another LPA has been spotted some 1,500 km east of Mindanao outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

“Itong LPA [na malapit sa Hinatuan ay] nananatiling mababa ang tsansa na maging isang bagyo [at] considered as a shallow LPA. Posibleng lumapit ng konti dito sa silangang parte po ng eastern Visayas and Caraga region,” PAGASA meteorologist Benison Estareja said.

The LPA/ITCZ would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Bicol Region and Northern Samar as well as Mindanao.

Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora and Quezon are expected to experience similar weather condition.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon would have the same weather condition due to the effects of the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the rest of Luzon will be moderate to rough. Visayas and Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea condition.
