Angeline Quinto is open to the possibility of entering politics
Kapamilya singer-actress Angeline Quinto revealed that she has received political offers but she can’t decide about it right now.
It is a normal scenario for many showbiz personalities to crossover to the world of politics. There had been several celebrities who made a successful career as public servants.
Angeline is just among the many artistas in the Philippines who received offers to run for a government position. Based on the article in Inquirer, the popular biritera singer shared that she was offered to run for councilor in Sampaloc, Manila but she turned that down.
“I declined … I don’t want to enter something I don’t know anything about. Ayoko naman ng ganun. Baka mamaya, ano lang ang gawin ko doon!” Angeline Quinto said.
She also said that she started receiving political offers two years ago. At that time, she would ask the advice of her late adoptive mother Mama Bob. “She told me, ‘It’s too early for that. And why would you enter [politics] when you already have your hands full with work?’” the singer-actress shared.
However, Angeline said that she is not closing her door completely. “I thought, ‘Wherever God’s guidance leads me …’ if it will give you a wider reach to help others, why not?” the singer said. “I just can’t make a decision right now, but I’m not closing myself up,” the Kapamilya star said.
Meanwhile, Angeline is now celebrating her 10th year in the entertainment industry from the time she won in a singing contest. In celebration of her a decade old career, she did a 10-part digital concert series “10Q: Ten Years of Angeline Quinto.”
