This is why Sharon Cuneta accepted “Ang Probinsyano” role offered to her.
SHARON CUNETA – Megastar Sharon Cuneta said that accepting “Ang Probinsyano” role is a “no brainer” for her because of this reason.
Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s debut in a teleserye is finally happening and that is through “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”, the top-rating and longest-running action-drama series of Kapamilya network. She will be joining the cast for the sixth year of the program and on November 9, she was warmly welcomed with a red carpet laid for her to walk on.
It was then followed by a story conference where her role was discussed with Coco Martin and directors Albert Langitan, Kevin de Vela, John Prats, and Malu Sevilla based on a previous article. Megastar felt honored and proud for having been included in the series but her role has not been disclosed yet.
And now, opening up as to what’s her reason why she easily accepted the role, she expressed that making a decision about it after it has been offered to her was a “no brainer”. Accordingly, ABS-CBN COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes was the one who contacted her and told her that her participation in the series would be highly appreciated. She received a ‘We’d like to offer you a role in Probinsyano’ from her and she said yes immediately to it.
“Nagka-Zoom kami na meeting and Coco pitched the story to me, ‘yung character ko. For me, it was a no-brainer. Sino ba naman ang ayaw maging part ng Probinsyano?” she said. Apart from that, one of the major factors is the fact that it is originally a film of the late Da King Fernando Poe Jr., a person she considers as her best friend in the industry, and Coco, the lead actor in the remake, was successful in maintaining his legacy.
She added based on a report from ABS-CBN, “I am grateful to Coco for that and Tita Susan (Roces) also. This really belongs to FPJ and I am glad that I will be part of it as a tribute to him.”
Meanwhile, Megastar and her family are thrilled over her inclusion and excited to see her in the series.
