Leni Robredo has this statement after Sara Duterte withdrew her COC for mayor
Vice President Leni Robredo said that the possibility of having the Bongbong Marcos–Sara Duterte tandem is an advantage for and her running mate Senator Kiko Pangilinan.
The presidential daughter became a trending topic on social media after she announced that she will not seek reelection anymore as mayor but, as of this writing, she has not stated her next step yet.
In a recent interview, her close friend, Representative Joey Salceda said that the decision of the presidential daughter will be made public before November 15, the last day of the filing of the substitution of candidacy.
This decision of Mayor Sara garnered various reactions and speculations online. Political analysts have also shared opinions if what could be the possible next move of the female politician.
With this, speculations surfaced that there will be a possible Bongbong Marcos-Sara Duterte tandem in 2022.
VP Leni Robredo was asked to react to this during a recent press conference. She said that she was not surprised by the announcement of Mayor Sara withdrawing her candidacy and her rumored tandem with the former Senator. “Even before we decided, ineexpect na namin ito,” the presidential aspirant said, based on the Twitter post of ABS-CBN reporter Adrian Ayalin.
She also said that they know that there is a great possibility that this scenario will take place. “Tingin ko it can work to our advantage at dahil mas klaro kung sino, ano yung pinaglalaban, ano yung mga paniniwala, tingin ko pag nangyari ito, yun yung magiging resulta na mas magiging defined yung mga linya,” the Vice President said.
When Senator Kiko Pangilinan was asked about this, he echoed the statement of the Vice President. “Talagang mas magiging klaro, kung gusto nila yung ginagawa ng administrasyon ngayon ay tuloy tuloy ay dun sila,” he said.
