Beatrice Gomez Speaks Up After Winning Miss Universe Philippines Crown

BEATRICE GOMEZ – Cebu City’s Beatrice Luigi Gomez has broken her silence about her win at the Miss Universe Philippines 2021.

Cebuana beauty Beatrice Luigi Gomez is the first openly queer winner of the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant. She will represent the country on the international stage of Miss Universe in Israel this December.

The 26-year-old beauty queen has been candid about her relationship with her girlfriend Kate Jagdon throughout the pageant and ever during her Binibining Cebu stint in 2020. She stood out early on in the said local pageant. She won the introduction challenge and ranked 6th in the interview challenge.

During those challenges, Beatrice Gomez proudly shared information about her girlfriend. After winning the crown, the disk jockey from Cebu took to her Instagram account to congratulate her partner for 6 years.

You have proven once again @beatriceluigigmz that you’re worthy of all the big things in life,” Jagdon said.

After 3 days of silence on social media, Bea Gomez spoke up about breaking barriers. In a post on her Instagram account on Sunday, October 3, she said she feels very blessed to have won the Miss Universe Philippines crown.

“BREAKING BARRIERS… No words can describe the pride and honor that I’ve been blessed with, from being a delegate tasked to represent my home, Cebu City, to being an ambassador and servant leader of my beloved country, Philippines.”

Bea Gomez also expressed her gratitude to her team members, management, friends, family, and the Naval Reserve Center of Easter Visayas, the 82nd Marine Battalion Reserve, and her partner Kate.

After enjoying a quick break in Bohol, Bea Gomez will now start to prepare for the much-awaited Miss Universe 2021 in Israel.  She will attempt to win the country’s 5th crown after Catriona Gray, Pia Wurtzbach, Margie Moran, and Gloria Diaz.
