Gloria is the first-ever Pinay Miss Universe while Hidilyn is the first ever Olympic gold medalist from the Philippines. In the recent Instagram post of the veteran actress, she congratulated the Pinay athlete.
“Congratulations HILDILYN !! The Filipinos are soooo proud of you [face with hearts emojis] lalo na AKO! [clapping hands and Philippine flags emojis],” Gloria Diaz wrote in the caption of her post.
Since she and Hidilyn have the same surname, netizens created memes about this and the pride that they have given to the country.
