PAGASA Says LPA & ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition on Wednesday (September 22)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the low pressure area and Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rainy to cloudy weather condition over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (September 22, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The low pressure area and Intertropical Convergence Zone would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the low-pressure area has been last spotted at 205 kilometers east northeast of Pag-asa Island, Palawan and embedded along the ITCZ. The two weather systems would affect southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The LPA/ITCZ would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Western Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The localized thunderstorms and ITCZ would bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar and the rest of Visayas.

Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country would experience similar weather conditions. The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

“Dahil sa pinagsamang epekto ng LPA at ITCZ, asahan sa rehiyon ng Mimaropa ang maulap na kalangitan sa halos buong araw, sasamahan din ito ng mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan,” senior weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The coastal water conditions over Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
