Anthony Jennings talked about the controversy he went through
Kapamilya actor Anthony Jennings admitted that fame got to his head, which had a negative result.
Anthony rose to fame because of his role in the Kapamilya series Can’t Buy Me Love, in which he was paired with actress Maris Racal. Because of their projects, one after the other, the closeness between them went to a romantic level.
This became controversial because back then, Maris was still with her ex-boyfriend Rico Blanco, while Anthony had a non-showbiz girlfriend.
In a recent episode of the Think Talk Tea podcast, hosted by Kring Kim, Anthony Jennings talked about how fame got to his head. The podcast host asked the actor, “It means na aminado kang yumabang ka?”
“Oo naman. Well hindi naman siguro na sobra na kung ano yung inimagine niyo na mayabang. Pero, may mga times na nakikita ko na parang nag bago ako. Siguro, yung schedule. May mga hindi ako sinsipot talaga,” Anthony said.
Then, the actor recalled the time when he would skip some simple gatherings before. However, now, realized that it was unprofessional. During those times, Anthony also realized that the way he was speaking to others was so different.
“Parang inisip ko masyado akong busy para diyan pero kaya mo naman gawan ng time, di ba? So parang yun yung mga maliliit ng bagay,” the actor revealed.
On the other hand, Anthony stressed that those attitudes are gone now. He is doing his best to change for the better, and he has become more self-aware.
The actor realized that things were getting worse and that he had to do something to address these. With this, he had his social media hiatus and reconnected with his nbn-showbiz friends and spent time with his family. What he did helped him get grounded once again.
“Binigyan ko muna ng time yung sarili ko para mas maintindihan ko talaga kung ano yung mga naging problema ko before. Sinettle ko siya isa-isa talaga. Hindi mo kasi pwedeng–– ang hirap kasi na kailangan ito ako ngayon–– parang mabait ako agad. Onti-onti talaga siya na proceso like paano ka,” Anthony Jennings said.
