Police Faces Administrative Charges After He Ran Amok at Vaccination Site in Romblon
MAGDIWANG ROMBLON – A police officer is now facing administrative charges after he ran amok at a vaccination site in Romblon.
Romblon Police Provincial Director Col. Christopher Abecia reported that Patrolman Jerick Recto Rocha would face administrative charges after he ran amok at a vaccination site in the town of Magdiwang.
Abecia said that Rocha lost his control and ran amok after having an argument with his girlfriend. The cop forced his girlfriend to leave the site but the woman refused to obey him because she really wants to get vaccinated.
“Nagwala siya doon kasi magpapabakuna yung girlfriend niya. Parang pinaaalis o pinauuwi niya. Ngayon, nung ayaw sumama nung girlfriend, siyempre, gusto ng babae na mabakunahan na, parang nagwala na ito. Ang report, allegedly, lasing.Nakainom siya noon, so nagwala na. Nung pina-pacify nung mga pulis noon, nagre-resist pa siya,” Abecia said.
According to the reports, the patrolman is also facing another administrative case for allegedly disrespecting the chief-of-police in Magdiwang MPS and abandoning his post at the station. Aside from the two administrative cases, he is also facing criminal charges including alarm and scandal as well as resisting arrest.

The Romblon police chief revealed that Jerick might be dismissed from his position because of his action. He also wants Rocha to undergo another neuropsychiatric test to determine if he has a psychiatric or mental disorder.
Abecia also called the attention of over 600 cops in the province to set as a good example. ”Dapat tayong nauuna, sumusunod sa batas. Tayo ang nauunang nagpapakitang disiplinado tayo. Huwag matigas ang ulo at sumunod sa mga legal na batas at higher headquarters,” he added.
