Drunk MPD Police Dies After Shootout with Co-police in MPD Station

Police from Manila Police District (MPD) dies after he runs amok and turns into a shootout with co-police inside the MPD station.

Last night, two police officers were slain in a gunfight directly inside the Manila Police District headquarters on UN Avenue. PEMS Reynante Dipasupil was originally reported dead at 12:45 a.m. on Friday, while PEMS Romeo Cantal was murdered at 3:06 p.m., according to the report.

Dipasupil allegedly appeared at the DPIOU Office drunk last night at 11:30 p.m. and broke down the door. He told the site desk PSSg Michael Datur (Duty Desk) not to get involved in his dilemma, then he proceeded to his gun cabinet and grabbed the M-16.

However, because he did not supposedly detonate the first gun, so his Galil 5.56mm Rifle was utilized to shoot seven times at the office ceiling. Dipasupil then went down and was shot multiple times by PLTCOL Dionelle Brannon.

Dipasupil also fired a gun at the DDEU headquarters, injuring PMSg Raynelado Cordova. Upon entering the headquarters’ corridor, he quickly proceeded to the second floor, where MPD Director Brig Gen. Leo ‘Paco’ Francisco’s office is located.

He walked immediately to the Office of the District Director, on the second floor of the MPDQHQ and fired one after another. PCpl Jomar Dela Paz, who was on duty at the time of the shooting, was able to flee the scene.

As a result, several police officers, including PSSg Aaron Urbano, PSSg German Roque Jr, and PSSg Allen Camangon, Duty Security of DD, MPD, were assigned to protect PEMS Dipasupil. When his Galil Rifle ran out of ammo, he dropped the weapon and dashed down to the escape gate behind the headquarters, where PEMS Cantala was shot with his last service weapon after surrendering.

SWAT troops fired and hit the suspect as a consequence. Cantal and Cordova were brought to Manila Medical Center right away, while Dipasupil was transported to Manila Doctors Hospital and confirmed dead.

Cordova is being treated for a gunshot wound at the hospital. In an interview with Gen. Francisco, he stated that the specifics are still being worked out and that an official statement on the incident inside the MPD headquarters will be issued at any time.
