PAGASA Says ITCZ and Localized Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the intertropical convergence zone and localized thunderstorms would affect the country’s weather condition.

On Friday (July 2, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Two weather conditions are expected to affect the country’s weather condition.

The southwest monsoon would bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao and Abra.

Similar weather conditions are expected over the Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro. The intertropical convergence zone would bring cloudy condition with rains over Caraga and Davao regions.

The localized thunderstorms partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

“For the weekend dito sa Metro Manila, inaasahan natin ang maaliwalas na panahon sa umaga at may tsansa ng pag-ulan sa hapon,” weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said.

Luzon region would experience a generally fair weather condition with chances of isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. The low-pressure area is expected to develop inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility but unlikely to intensify into a storm.
