Rabiya Mateo Visits Attractions, Historical Structures W/ Fellow Queens
RABIYA MATEO – Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo visited attractions and historical structures in Bohol with her fellow queens.
Beauty queen Rabiya Mateo is a healthcare professional from Iloilo City. Her win at the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 became controversial when she was accused of bringing her own glam team to the coronation night.
The 24-year-old Ilongga moved on from the controversies and said she will focus on the much-awaited Miss Universe 2020 pageant instead. The prestigious pageant will be held in Florida USA, scheduled on May 16. The coronation night to be aired on May 17 (PH time) at 8 am on the A2Z channel.
Before flying to the US for the Miss Universe 2020 pageant, Rabiya Mateo visited the province of Bohol. She considers the trip “a breath of fresh air” amid her preparations for the 69th edition of the pageant.

On Monday, Empire Philippines released the highlights of her trip on the video-sharing site Youtube. Rabiya visited historical structures and tourist attractions with fellow Miss Universe Philippines queens – 1st runner-up Bella Ysmael, 3rd runner-up Pauline Amelinckx, and 4th runner-up Billie Hakenson. The gorgeous ladies also spoke with the locals.
“This trip has been therapeutic and introspective. Preparing for the Miss Universe pageant has its challenges. It could be a little taxing, if I’m being honest. While I always try to do my very best, sometimes I get tired, too. I’m only human…”
“And moments like our Bohol trip where I got to slow down, be with nature, and listen to stories from amazing people are a breath of fresh air,” she added. “It felt good to recalibrate before the biggest fight of my life,” Rabiya said.
Rabiya Mateo went to the famed Chocolate Hills, Loboc River and 4 beach resorts. She said she’s bringing with her lessons and realizations from her trip as she represents the county on the international pageant.
