Man Earns P46 from Selling Scrap Donates it at Community Pantry in QC
A generous man donates P46 earned from selling metal scrap at the community pantry built near their area in Quezon City.
A 56-year-old man who sold scraps from his house’s old roof donated P46 of his earnings to a Quezon City community pantry. Romeo Yap demonstrated that poverty is not an impediment to helping.
“Isang daang tao magbigay ng halagang P46, malaking tulong dito sa pantry. I thought the more people lined up, maybe they need more,” Yap said.

Apart from Yap, Joaquin Hagederon also helped the Maginhawa Community Pantry by donating bread. Joaquin claims that donating or giving what he has makes him feel better.
Instead of food, a shoe store owner in Marikina City distributed shoes. The community pantry was founded on Maginhawa Street in Quezon City with the aim of providing food to the poor in the wake of the pandemic.
Communities have started their own free pantries for the poor in the midst of the recent lockdowns inside the NCR Plus Bubble. Those that can afford to donate can do so, and those in need can take whatever they require.
