Gas Companies to Impose Mixed Oil Price Adjustments on 2nd Week of June
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Mixed oil price adjustments are expected during the second week of June after weeks of rollback.
Drivers across the country may need to prepare for another increase in fuel expenses as diesel prices are expected to rise on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
The Department of Energy expected that diesel could go up by as much as P4.50 per liter, while gasoline may bring a bit of relief with a possible rollback of P1.00 to P1.50 per liter. The projected adjustments are based on recent trading activity in the regional oil market, although final figures could still change before fuel companies announce their official price updates.

The expected increase comes after global oil prices regained strength this week. Market watchers have been closely monitoring developments in the Middle East, where ongoing tensions and stalled diplomatic efforts have raised concerns about future oil supplies.
Another factor affecting prices is the growing concern over global oil inventories. Analysts have warned that fuel reserves are being used faster than they are being replenished. If the current trend continues, supplies could become tighter in the coming months, which may push prices even higher.
Energy officials in the Philippines have also been monitoring the situation. Reports indicate that international experts have warned of possible supply challenges if peace negotiations abroad fail to make progress before the end of July.

The projected diesel increase comes only days after motorists benefited from significant fuel price reductions. Earlier this week, oil companies lowered the prices of gasoline, diesel, and kerosene, giving temporary relief to consumers who have been dealing with fluctuating fuel costs throughout the year.
While gasoline users may see lower prices at the pump next week, diesel-dependent motorists, including public transport operators, delivery services, and businesses, could face higher operating expenses once again.
Fuel companies are expected to announce their official adjustments on Monday, with the new prices taking effect the following day.
