Amid the controversies and political issues involving Senator Robin Padilla, television host Mariel claimed that despite the buzz surrounding her husband, there is peace inside their home.
During the special screening of “Bad Boy 3” in Quezon City, Mariel stressed that they remain unaffected by the noise surrounding her husband’s public life as a senator.
She said, “We do our normal everyday thing. Politika lang naman lahat ng magulo. Kami OK kami. Hindi kami magulo. Politika lang magulo.”
Her comments come as Padilla remains under public criticism over several controversies involving the Senate, including a recent issue with Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla. Despite the criticism aimed at her husband, Mariel said she has learned not to take these issues personally.
She said that if she were weaker, she might have let the negative comments affect her. However, she has discovered an inner strength that helps her rise above them, something that has even surprised her. According to Mariel, this resilience has come with age, and she now chooses to leave everything in God’s hands.
“Robin is really great. Sobra. Before, he would tell me wag ko bigyan ng oras. Sa kanya ko natutunan,” she added, and furthered that discussions about politics are even rarely talked about inside their home.
Her role is to support him and to make their home a place of comfort and peace for their family amid the turbulent talks and pressure of public life.
“I make sure we have a healthy meal, something home-cooked. Yung gusto niya. Always naman we stand by his principles and courage. We pray for him and his safety,” she said.
