Pinay OFW Disappointed After Encountering Problems at the Airport Due to Strict Guard

Pinay OFW Shares Airport Experience, Reminds Travelers to Be Prepared for Different Policies

A Pinay overseas Filipino worker (OFW) expressed her disappointment after allegedly experiencing problems at the airport because of a strict security guard.

Recently, Ki Tti Ng, a Facebook user, shared her experience online after encountering difficulties at the airport involving a strict guard. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions from netizens.

According to her, she did not expect to face any issues because she used the same backpack and small hand-carry suitcase that she had brought when she traveled from Hong Kong to the Philippines earlier in May.

The OFW recalled that during her departure from Hong Kong, airport personnel did not question her luggage. In fact, she said that an airport staff member even assisted her and gave helpful advice, allowing her to proceed smoothly through the airport.

However, her experience was very different when she was preparing to return to Hong Kong. She said that she encountered a strict security guard before reaching immigration. According to her post, concerns were raised regarding her hand-carry baggage, which eventually resulted in additional charges.

The OFW explained that her sudden trip to the Philippines was due to a family tragedy. She had returned home after the passing of her nephew and had already spent much of her savings helping with funeral expenses. Because of this, the unexpected fee became a heavy financial burden.

She shared that she ended up paying P3,500, money that she had originally set aside for her eldest child’s school supplies and for supporting her parents. The situation also caused inconvenience because she had to find a way to access additional funds before continuing her journey.

Despite her frustration, she admitted that airport personnel were only performing their duties and clarified that she was not claiming to be completely in the right. Instead, she wanted to remind fellow OFWs that policies may vary from one airport to another.
