Update on Ayuda for NCR Plus Residents Amid the ECQ Implementation

AYUDA FOR NCR PLUS – Several local government units (LGUs) are set to distribute the aid for those greatly affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The spike on the cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines prompted the national government to place several cities and provinces in the country under stricter community quarantine measures.

Since March 29, the entire National Capital Region (NCR) and the provinces of Laguna, Bulacan, Rizal, and Cavite are under Enhanced Community Quarantine. Amid the ECQ implementation, the movements of the people are limited to essential purposes.

Undeniably, many Filipino families are struggling now amid the crisis. The national government vowed assistance or ayuda for NCR Plus residents who are greatly affected by the restrictions.

Recently, an update about the assistance or ayuda for NCR Plus residents crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, several local government units (LGUs) have already received it and are set to distribute the monetary and food assistance to the people.

The municipality of Pateros received over P52 million. Based on the report, it was initially expected that 80% of the people in Pateros will receive aid amid the ECQ. However, Mayor Miguel Ponce III clarified that the “80%” was based in the 2015 population which is really far from the total number of people living in the municipality now.

According to Mayor Ponce, the population in 2015 was around 65,000. Now, it has increased to around 75,000.00. Taguig City also received P800 million for ayuda of the residents.
