The Facebook page “News viral” has shared the video footage of a barangay captain who apprehended the delivery riders performing their job. The video footage garnered various reactions from the netizens.

The captain apprehended some Food Panda riders and told them that they are not exempted in curfew policy. The riders explained that Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that delivery riders are allowed to go out and perform their job amid curfew hours.

The local official answered that the decision is up to the local government units regarding the implementation of the curfew policy. He also said that only fast-food chains are allowed to operate 24/7 serve medical frontliners.

Delivery workers are considered as frontliners for serving the public amid the coronavirus pandemic. They are also considered as essential workers for delivering food to the people who were prohibited to go outside during the lockdown.
