Over 200 Individuals in Manila were Arrested by Police after Caught Violating Curfew
Police who enforce quarantine protocols arrested over 200 individuals in Manila for allegedly violating curfew which is implemented to ease the spread of COVID-19.
This coincides with the first night of the implementation of the uniform curfew in Metro Manila from 10 pm to 5 am as a precaution against the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Based on initial data, in Sta. Cruz, 80 seniors were arrested while 68 were minors. They were taken to the temporary holding area, ticketed and the victims were forced to exercise as punishment.

At least 25 people were caught with curfew reprimands by the Sampaloc Police and also in Pandacan. Authorized Persons Outside of Residence or APOR such as medical frontliners, essential workers, delivery riders, street sweepers, and others are exempted from the curfew.
So far, the Manila Police District (MPD) has not released final data on the number of arrested individuals. According to the MP, up to 1,700 policemen have been deployed to guard checkpoints and enforce curfews in Manila.
Meanwhile, on Monday (March 15, 2021), the police authorities and barangay officials caught 150 individuals violating the unified curfew in Metro Manila. The offenders have been brought to a detention center.
