Quezon City LGU Arrested 1,700 Individuals for Violating Health Protocols
The local government of Quezon City has arrested 1,700 individuals for breaching health protocols such as social distancing and not wearing face masks.
The Quezon City local government conducted a one-time, big-time operation on Friday aiming to arrest violators of quarantine protocols. The numbers of violators round up to 1,700, who ended cramming up in the vehicles.
One of them is a man who was caught without pants after personnel immediately apprehended him for not wearing a face mask. Authorities also caught an ambulance driver who removed his mask while smoking.

Another man who pulled down his masks to the chin while chatting was also apprehended. They also nabbed a man who was fetching water but was not wearing his mask.
According to the man fetching water, “Kasi may sakit po ako, may heart failure ako eh. ‘Pag nag-iigib ako nagbubuhat ako, pagka naka-face mask hirap ako huminga.”
Meanwhile, authorities granted the request of a senior citizen vendor when he asked them not to arrest his son. However, social distancing observation was not noticed inside the vehicles used to transport the violators.
The violators were taken to Quezon City Circle where they were fined P300 for the first violation, P500 for the second violation, and P1,000 for the third violation. Quezon City local authorities arrested a total of 1,740 violators.
