Rico Blanco Admits He Once Believed Singlehood Was His Destiny
RICO BLANCO – Despite being one of the country’s most beloved musicians, Rico Blanco revealed that he once believed staying single forever was the best choice for him.
Veteran singer-songwriter Rico Blanco recently shared his thoughts on relationships, revealing how his views on love and commitment have evolved through the years. Although he is currently single, the celebrated musician remains hopeful about finding a meaningful partnership and is not ruling out marriage in the future.
During his guest appearance on the talk show Fast Talk with Boy, Rico spoke candidly about his personal experiences with romance and how they have shaped his perspective. He disclosed that there was once a period in his life when he genuinely believed that remaining single was the best path for him.
“There was a time where I resigned na, I knew that being single was the best thing set up for me. But that was a long time ago,” Rico shared.
That outlook eventually changed when he entered new relationships. Looking back, he acknowledged how those experiences influenced his understanding of companionship and emotional connection.
“And then I had a relationship after that,” he recalled.
Despite past heartbreaks and publicized breakups, Rico remains open to the possibility of settling down someday. According to reports, the 53-year-old artist still sees marriage as an option, provided he meets someone truly compatible.
“Right now, I’m single but I’m open to not being single,” Rico explained.
When asked whether marriage is still something he considers, he responded positively but emphasized that it would depend on finding the right person.
“Still a possibility for me,” Rico stated. “But I suppose it has to be with the right person because I’m at the age where I don’t have to get married. I understand for some people, they have to get married. Right now, I don’t have to get married so if I will get married, it has to be with the right person.”
Rico also revealed that his family has never pressured him to marry because they have witnessed the effort he invested in his previous relationships.
“Maybe because they also seen I’ve been trying naman eh. It’s not like they see me not trying. So they’ve seen me in relationships trying each time and being broken each time it doesn’t work,” he explained.
Known for his romantic nature, Rico admitted that he approaches love with deep emotion and sensitivity. He also shared that, despite his age and experiences, he continues to learn valuable lessons about relationships. One of his biggest realizations is that love alone does not guarantee success, as timing, life circumstances, and personal priorities all play important roles in making a relationship work.
