DOE to Impose Mixed Oil Price Adjustments Next Week
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – Several oil companies are set to impose mixed oil price adjustments starting next week.
Motorists may experience another round of fuel price changes next week, with diesel and kerosene likely becoming cheaper while gasoline prices may either remain steady or get a slight increase.
Diesel prices could decrease by around P2 to P5 per liter, while kerosene may see a rollback ranging from P0.50 to P3 per liter. Gasoline prices, meanwhile, could either stay unchanged or increase by as much as P0.50 per liter.
According to energy officials, recent developments in the Middle East continue to influence oil trading worldwide. The ongoing tension involving the United States and Iran has created uncertainty among traders, causing global oil prices to move within a narrow range instead of showing a clear upward or downward trend.
Despite the possibility of fuel rollbacks, authorities remain cautious. Energy Secretary Sharon Garin noted that any further escalation in the conflict could quickly affect global oil supply and push prices higher.
The situation is being closely watched, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, a major route used for transporting crude oil and petroleum products across the world.
The DOE assured the public that fuel supply in the country remains stable. Based on the agency’s latest data, the Philippines has fuel reserves that can last for more than 45 days, helping ease concerns about possible supply disruptions.
The agriculture sector is also keeping a close eye on fuel costs. Farmers and fishers often face higher operating expenses whenever fuel prices rise, affecting transportation, production, and overall income.
The Department of Energy (DOE) said fuel companies are still monitoring movements in the global oil market before announcing the official adjustments on Monday, June 15, 2026. The new prices will take effect the following day.
