Rider Help Elderly Man to Sell His Brooms by Posting in Online to Let Him Rest
A concerned rider help and let an elderly man who used to peddle brooms under the heat of sun rest by posting its product online.
An 85-year-old elderly man who sells brooms was helped by a delivery rider who saw him while selling in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan on Tuesday. Benedict Jade Duran’s shared on his Facebook post, he was going to a mall in Quezon City for his customer’s rush order when he passed Tatay Jesus.
“Habang nagda-drive ako papuntang SM Fairview, nakita ko kaagad si Tatay na may bitbit na walis tambo na mahaba. Noong una, nilampasan ko siya tapos tiningnan ko siya sa salamin ng motor. Habang nakahinto ako, nagdadalawang-isip pa ako kasi may rush order talaga ko,” Benedict said.
But the desire to help others prevailed over him so he quickly returned. He met Tatay Jesus Nieves from Rodriguez, Rizal. He asked her how much is the broom he was selling.
Benedict then told him to rest and not to sell because he would take care of selling them. He posted a group of Tatay Jesus’ broom products. “Sino pong gusto ng walis na malaki? Gusto ko lang tulungan si Tatay,” he said to the Facebook group SJDM Food Express Delivery.
Many customers bought it so Tatay Jesus’ 10 pieces of broom merchandise were sold out immediately. Benedict thanked all the people who immediately buy the brooms as help to the elderly man.
“Buti may mga nakapansin sa post ko at naubos ‘yong paninda ni Tatay. ‘Yong ngiti ni Tatay nung binigay ko ‘yong pera, grabe ang sarap sa feeling nung tumawa siya at sinabing, ‘Nak, maraming salamat,’” said Benedict.
Benedict also expressed his admiration for the diligence of Tatay Jesus. “Grabe si Tatay. Sa edad niya na 85 years old, nagbabanat pa rin siya [ng buto]. Saludo ako kay Tatay,” he said.
