Zoey, daughter of Anthony Taberna, remains positive amid battle versus Leukemia.

ANTHONY TABERNA – Award-winning broadcaster Anthony Taberna’s daughter put brave front amid battle against illness, leukemia.

After one year of battle, newscaster Anthony Taberna and his wife Rossel Taberna finally opened up about their daughter’s condition. Their eldest Zoey, who is just 12 years old, was diagnosed of Leukemia and been actually undergoing treatment for a year already.

To recall, famous vlogger Emman Nimedez passed away last August due to his Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This type of disease doesn’t have any cure yet but it can be treated through chemotherapy. The first time Ka Tunying posted about his daughter is about that moment when she has to shave off her head for her chemotherapy.

As parents, both Rossel and Ka Tunying express their pain seeing their daughter go through such sufferings at a young age. And granting an interview for the first time about their battle, Zoey put up a brave front answering questions from Jessica Soho for KMJS.

She confessed that she’s getting better and what apparently gave her strength to open up about her condition is the thought that she shouldn’t be ashamed of it. Also, it’s been already a year. She added, “Na dapat ipakita ko sa mga tao po na strong po ako, and kahit na mahirap po yung pinagdaanan ko po ay kaya ko pa din po.”

In the interview, Rossel also recalled that phase when she looked different due to extreme weight loss. She was then so skinny then as it was that time she ate nothing for two weeks. Zoey shared, “Nung time po na yun, two weeks po akong hindi kumakain ng kahit ano po, puro drinks lang po and ice po. So, siyempre sobrang hungry po ako.”

Zoey also thanked all her well-wishers and the people who have been praying for her recovery in an Instagram post.
