Rossel Taberna, wife of Anthony Taberna, speaks about their child’s Leukemia.
ANTHONY TABERNA – After newscaster Anthony Taberna reveals condition of daughter, his wife Rossel Taberna also expressed her feelings about it.
Zoey Taberna is the eldest child of broadcaster Anthony Taberna and wife Rossel Taberna who was diagnosed of Leukemia last 2019. Leukemia is a type of blood cancer which has no cure yet but can be prevented from coming back through treatments such as chemotherapy.
Through a social media post, he opened up about the year-long battle of them against Leukemia. He shared the moment that his daughter has to shave her head for chemotherapy and it broke his heart as a father. He thought he’s already strong enough to witness her daughter’s struggles but he cannot. He went away when Zoey had to be shaved.

The broadcaster wrote in his post, “May video habang kinakalbo si Zoey. At tuwing makikita ko iyon, hindi ko mapigil ang pagpatak ng aking luha.”
Their daughter is just 12 years old and his wife Rossel, also through a post, opened up about her feelings as a mother. She expressed how proud she is for her bravery to show the world how beautiful she is with or even without the hair.
A year ago, upon knowing her daughter’s condition, she shared that she was then scared and regretful. She’s feeling guilty of not noticing sooner the early symptoms she had such as her sudden weight loss.
She confessed, “Takot na takot ako, Atch pero napakatapang mo.🙏 You don’t even complain and it hurts me even more.😩 Kahit alam ko na masakit na masakit, you tried to stay calm because you didn’t want us to worry.”
Rossel, obviously in pain seeing her daughter to go through those, breaks her heart but she cannot help but admire the bravery Zoey has. As much as possible, she doesn’t want to disturb them in doing things she is able to do. She thanked all the prayers for them and her youngest for being so understanding about their situation.
