Pres. Duterte Speaks on His Administration’s Drug War

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte called on the military to join his war against drugs.

Pres. Duterte has always been vocal of his pursuit to put an end to the presence of drugs in the Philippines. It is one of the staunch campaigns of the former Davao City Mayor during the presidential election campaign period in 2016.

His other known campaign is against corruption in the government. He has always been vocal that corrupt officials have no place under his administration.

A lot of government officials were removed from their posts following issues of corruptions. These people are currently facing charges over the allegations of ill practices against them.

Currently, the campaign continues and the national government is working closely with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) over it.

Recently, in his late-night national address, Pres. Duterte called for the military to join his war against drugs. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he also called on the uniformed men not to be afraid and to just ignore the advocates of human rights.

“Hayaan mo yang human rights basta you do it in accordance with the law,” the President said based on the report.

The Commission on Human Rights (CHR) is one of the critics of the campaign of the President. Just as the critics are vocal on their disagreement, the President is also firm on pursuing his campaign.
