Pres. Duterte Says No Room for Corruption Under His Administration

DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is offering a cash reward for reports of corruption in the government and its agencies.

Two of the most popular campaigns of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte during the 2016 election campaign is the war against drugs and corruption. He’s always been vocal of how much he hates these two.

It was a landslide victory for the former Davao City Mayor. He initially promised to put an end to drugs in the country within six months. However, he miscalculated its extent and the fight continues until now.

As for corruption, there were already officials of the government who were fired or asked to resign over issues of corruption. Recently, the President emphasized again that there is no room for ill practices under his administration.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, during his late-night briefing with the National IATF, the President named the employees of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) who are suspended due to corruption accussations.

The President stressed that there are a lot of people who can replace officials of the government who are not doing their job honestly. Charges were filed against those who were suspended.

“Do not ever think that you are indispensable. Maraming Pilipinong graduate ang mahuhusay na honest. Maraming walang trabaho ngayon,” he said.

Based on the report, Pres. Duterte told the government officials and employees to take care of their position. He will give a reward of Php 50,000.00 to Php 100,000.00 for a report of corruption.

Also, the President promised to take care of the identities of those who will report the ill practices in the government and its agencies. If they will be harmed, he assured to deal with the person responsible for it.
