Netizen Shares Layout Of P2,000 Paper Bill Featuring Miriam Santiago

MIRIAM SANTIAGO – A netizen named Mikel Sarate shared his layout of a P2,000 paper bill featuring the late senator Miriam Santiago.

Iloilo’s rep Rabiya Mateo was crowned as the winner of the first edition of Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) 2020 pageant. The preliminary and coronation event was held at Baguio Country Club in Baguio City.

The 24-year-old Ilongga stood out among the 46 delegates with her morena looks. She also exuded strength during the final Q&A portion.

Rabiya Mateo is a cum laude graduate from Iloilo Doctor’s College. She is also an advocate of education and the reigning Miss Iloilo Universe 2020.

During the final Q&A round of MUP, the top 5 finalists were asked two questions. For the first question, host KC Montero asked them a unique question while the second one was a common one.

For the 1st question, Rabiya Mateo was asked: “If you can create a new paper currency with the image of any Filipino on it, dead or alive, who would it be and why?”

The Filipino-Indian beauty queen replied with:

“If I would be given the chance, I would use the face of Miriam Defensor-Santiago. For those who don’t know, she’s an Ilongga but what I admired about her, she used her knowledge, her voice to serve the country. And I want to be somebody like her, somebody who puts her heart, her passion into action. And after all, she is the best president that we never had.”

Late Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago died of cancer in 2016. The Ilongga politician was among President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s competitors during the 2016 presidential elections.

On Monday, October 26, a Facebook user named Mikel Sarate shared his layout of a P2,000 paper bill featuring Miriam Santiago. He said it was inspired by Rabiya Mateo’s answer during the Q&A portion of the pageant.

Sarate said the design features the color red that portrays power and phenomenal woman like Santiago. He also placed the Hablon and Jaro Cathedral in his layout.
