The COVID-19 pandemic is currently challenging over 200 countries and territories across the globe. Last December 2019, China recorded the first cases of the new coronavirus disease.
More than 3,000 people died of COVID-19 in China. Starting January, several other countries recorded cases of the disease. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) was alarmed by how fast the disease has spread.
Now, more than 200 countries and territories have confirmed cases of COVID-19. It caused countries to close borders in the pursuit to curb the spread of the disease.
The Philippines is one of the countries with confirmed cases of COVID-19. It brought a lot of changes to the country. Undeniably, the pandemic has paused a lot of dreams.
There are values that we really need to possess amid the COVID-19 pandemic. We must possess obedience, patience, generosity, and faith.
What is happening now cannot be won by a single person alone – not even the president nor the richest person alive. We must abide by the protocols to curb the spread of the disease.
Patience. A lot of dreams are put on pause by the pandemic. Many surely want to travel, to do this and that. However, this may be a long-term fight that will keep on happening if we won’t give way for a little while. Be patient, the purpose will still take place even if it means it’s not happening anytime soon.
Also, amid the pandemic, may we find in our hearts to always be generous to the needy ones. This is a time when we need to unite. Some people may have more while others have less. It is the time to extend help in any way we can. After all, these times proved us that no one can win this fight alone.
Above all, we must continue to strengthen our faith. We always need to pray as this battle may be just a prayer away. God is still our best refuge.
