By definition, a teacher is basically, one who teaches, especially, one whose work or occupation is to instruct.

Teachers are considered our second parents in our second home called school. They are dedicated to provide us the education and knowledge we need in order for us to be well-equipped in the outside world.

These poems that we are about to read are about them, and some aspects that are in line to them.

Here are the following examples, among them were some uplifted from various websites:

Thank You, Mrs. Newby by Kristen Ottesen

A happy smile, contagious to all,
With a heart of gold that never falls.
As my role model, you set the bar high,
But you’ve taught me all I can do is try.
As my friend, you support me,
Helping me achieve goals I never imagined I could reach.
As my teacher, you motivate me
To become the best I can possibly be.
You’re always there to help others,
Putting yourself second and acting like a mother.
You’re a very admired teacher
Who’s caring, kind, and smart.
Whether I like it or not,
You’re always here for me
And with my best intentions in your heart.
I always know you’ll have my back.
The way you love to help others learn
Is something for which I will always yearn,
And one day when I’m a teacher too,
I will strive to be just like you.

Teachers by Beryl L Edmonds

Teachers proudly stand in front of the class
With knowledge and influence en masse,
Igniting a flame in curious minds
Proficiently as the lessons unwind.

Teaching, a calling that burns deep inside
To instruct thirsty, inquisitive minds.
Installing passion that leads to success.
Inspiring pupils to give of their best.

Encouraging scholars’ creative gifts,
Praising, applauding whatever it is.
Those who are taught well live well, get ahead.
Blessed are the teachers, it has to be said.

It doesn’t go unnoticed, the work involved
Developing great people to evolve.
All humble, nurturing teachers out there,
Thank you all for your compassionate care.

Those who go on to find their hopes and dreams,
Remember the teachers who cast the beams.

Northern Star by Kelly Graham

Northern Star, Northern Star,
I gaze up at you from afar.
Shining brightly in the curtain of night,
Northern Star, you are my light.

Your beams of light fall on my face.
I wish to remain in this beautiful place.
Silenced by your beauty,
Northern Star, you flow through me.

You place me where I should be.
I’m grateful you made me feel free.
You’ve always been the rock in my wall.
Northern Star, don’t ever let me fall.

Northern Star, you are so bright.
I look up at you every night.
You’ve always helped me deal with strife.
Northern Star, you are my life.

The Teacher Gets A+ by Joanna Fuchs

I look forward to your class
When I come to school.
You’re an awesome teacher;
I think you’re very cool.

You’re smart and fair and friendly;
You’re helping all of us.
And if I got to grade you,
From me you’d get A+!

I Want To Be Like You by Joanna Fuchs

Thank you, teacher,
for being my life’s role model.
When I consider all you’ve taught me
and reflect on the kind of person you are,
I want to be like you—
smart, interesting and engaging,
positive, confident, yet unpretentious.
I want to be like you—
well-informed and easy to understand,
thinking with your heart as well as your head,
gently nudging us to do our best,
with sensitivity and insight.
I want to be like you—
giving your time, energy and talent
to ensure the brightest possible future
for each of us.
Thank you, teacher
For giving me a goal to shoot for:
I want to be like you!
