ABS-CBN announces leave of Ted Failon after 30 years of being in service.
TED FAILON – Famous and respected news reporter Ted Failon officially leaves his home network, ABS-CBN, after three decades being in service.
70 votes from the House Franchise Committee and the biggest media network in the Philippines, ABS-CBN, have shut down. These votes killed and junked the franchise renewal application which resulted to massive job loss.
In a previous article, their employees are now allowed to work on other companies and they have already conducted retrenchment. The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) also issued cease and desist order to stop the ABS-CBN affiliates, TV Plus and SKY Direct, from operating.
And now, another gem and veteran of the network left them after 30 years of being service and bringing real time news to the people. Ted Failon, as announced by the network, leaves the company after three decades. His final appearance will be on August 31 in programs “TV Patrol” and “Failon Ngayon sa Teleradyo”.
“The closure of ABS-CBN’s radio broadcast operations led to his painful decision and we respect it. We admire Ted’s talent, passion, and commitment to radio as his most effective medium in serving the Filipino people,” says a paragraph from the statement of the network.
Here’s reaction of some people based on an entertainment website:
Good luck Sir Ted! Wishing you the best, and sana hindi sumama yung jinx ng dati mong network pagtuntong mo sa lobby ng TV5.
Wow what a great loss for abs-cbn. Tsk tsk
Sa panahon ngayon pandemya Kailangan mo maging pratikal sa buhay para mabuhay.
