Erap Estrada Grieves Death of Former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim
ERAP ESTRADA – Former Manila mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada mourn the passing of former senator and Manila mayor Alfredo Lim.
Dela took to social media to share his farewell message for his beloved grandfather. He also thanked the people who showed concern and offered prayers for Lim.
Meanwhile, in a statement, former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada said he was saddened by the passing of Alfredo Lim. In his Facebook post, he praised the late politician for his love for the underprivileged. He said his constituents will never forget him.
“Ako po ay nalulungkot sa pagpanaw ng isang magiting na Alkalde ng Maynila, Mayor Alfredo Lim.
“Naging magkatunggali man kami sa pulitika, alam ko na iisa lang ang aming hangarin, ang mabigyan ng magandang buhay ang mahihirap nating mga kababayan, lalo na ang Masang Manilenyo.
“Hinding-hindi ka malilimutan ng Maynila. Rest In Peace, Mayor Lim!” he wrote.
Erap Estrada defeated Alfredo Lim in the 1998 presidential elections. In January 2020, Estrada appointed him as his Interior Secretary.
Alfredo Lim served as the mayor of Manila from 1992 to 1998 and again from 2007 to 2013. He lost his reelection bid in 2013 and 2016 to Erap Estrada. In 2019, he lost the mayoralty elections to Isko Moreno.
Prior to his stint in politics, he served the Integrated National Police (INP) and director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
