Less-Fortunate Parents Try Barter to Perceive Gadgets for e-Learning of their Kids

Several less-fortunate parents have already tried barter to give their kids the gadgets needed for online class.

Over the past few months, the coronavirus disease continues to spread in different countries all around the world. The pandemic has already infected millions of people and killed thousands of lives worldwide.

The health crisis does not only affect the public’s health but also the global economy due to the suspension of business operations. The pandemic also affects the education since face-to-face learning system is currently prohibited.

Less-Fortunate Parents

The Department of Education has implemented the online learning system to pursue the learning process amid the health crisis. However, not everyone could afford to buy e-learning gadgets and to have a stable internet connection.

Many parents are now struggling to perceive gadgets, which is a necessity for their children’s learning. Some parents have already tried barter to provide the necessities of their kids for online class.

A single mom Ailyn Austria offered a flatiron, three towels, and a blanket for an Android phone at “Laguna Barter Community”. She will use the Android phone for her son’s education when he enters Grade 8.

Less-Fortunate Parents

An online seller mom named Rhea Dalisay also offered some used clothing in exchange for gadgets for her kids.

Santiago Pillogo offers three roosters and Ashley Gibertas offers her washing machine for gadgets. Unfortunately, the two failed to make a deal. In the end, Gilbertas sold her washing machine for P500 to feed her family.
