Jennylyn Mercado gains popularity on social media
Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado, as a write-up stated, has become more popular on social media, especially on Twitter, due to her criticisms against the government.
Jennylyn, just like other celebrities in the Philippines, uses her social media platforms to give updates to her fans regarding her upcoming projects, products she endorses, and the time she spends with her son and boyfriend Dennis Trillo.
However, it was just recently when she used her Twitter account to make a stand on certain issues in the country. She even mentioned in one of her tweets that the Twitter world is indeed fun.
However, based on the article by entertainment columnist Rey Pumaloy in Abante, the actress is more popular on social media when her post is about her criticisms against government.
The columnist pointed out that when Jennylyn Mercado shared a post about her virtual convention for a beauty product that she endorses, only 830 people liked her post and it only got 25 comments.

On the other hand, her post about Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque who was seen sleeping during the State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte received 37 thousand likes and 456 comments.
Her posts with similar contest also received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments such as her reaction to a news break stating that the Philippines now has P9 trillion debt.
With this, Pumaloy said that Jennylyn has to express her fiery tirades against the government in order to maintain her popularity on social media.
