Jennylyn Mercado Bravely Slams Senator Bato Dela Rosa In This Post

GMA artist Jennylyn Mercado lambasts Senator Bato in a post.

JENNYLYN MERCADO – Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado fierce statement over Senator Bato Dela Rosa’s reaction to job loss of ABS-CBN employees.

An overwhelming number of 70 lawmakers has voted to junk the ABS-CBN franchise renewal application despite the network has proved in 13 hearings that they have violated no law. The official shut down of the network has left over 11,000 people jobless and broke millions of hearts.

While those who vocally contradicted the franchise renewal expressed happiness over the rejection, Senator Bato Dela Rosa has said something which caused outrage. With the job loss of many Filipinos, Dela Rosa said, before the result came out, to these employees to just find other jobs if ever.

Many people got mad over this “insensitive” remark of the official because in this time of pandemic where several businesses and companies have closed down, it is absolutely hard to find other jobs. He is also the same person who said to legalize the illegal doings of Chinese people in the country. As a senator of this country, where did his compassion went to?

He clearly stated based on a previous article, “Hanap ng ibang trabaho para mabuhay, magsumikap. May ibang paraan pa naman siguro para mabuhay tayo hangga’t may ibang jobs. Alangan namang sabihin ko sa kanila na maghimagsik kayo, magwala kayo. Maghanap na lang ng ibang trabaho para mabuhay pamilya ninyo.”

With this, Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado hit him in a post bravely stating that he should do it first. She wrote, “Sabi nga nila ‘To lead by example’. Baka naman gusto niyo pong mauna.”

The remark of the administration senator sparked outrage online as it was accordingly lacking of compassion to the people. He also believed that the close down of the biggest media network in the Philippines won’t implicate an impact which is contrary to what most of his colleagues in the Senate has said.

He furthered even that he is not affected because he is not from ABS-CBN – to some netizens, this is a selfish reasoning considering that he is a Senator and was placed in that position because of the people. Dela Rosa admitted,  meanwhile, that he has not yet studied the possible economic impact of ABS-CBN’s shutdown, on the government’s tax revenues particularly.
