Duterte’s 5th SONA Elicit Comment From Jennylyn Mercado
JENNYLYN MERCADO – GMA-7 actress Jennylyn Mercado commented on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s 5th SONA.
Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his fifth State of The Nation Address (SONA) at Batasang Pambansa. In his address, he expressed his gratitude to the healthcare workers who are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 75-year-old chief executive said the government set aside billions for Social Amelioration Program (SAP) to help the displaced workers and poor families. He also slammed Sen. Franklin Drilon for defending the Lopezes who own ABS-CBN.
Lots of people were confused or disappointed after President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s SONA. Among them is the Kapuso star Jennylyn Mercado.
The 33-year-old actress took to social media to share her thoughts on Duterte’s speech yesterday. She could not help but react when the president asked for the cooperation of Pinoys in fighting the pandemic.
“Okay. But what’s the plan?” she said on Twitter.

Duterte failed to lay out their plan to stop the rising of COVID-19 infections. In another Tweet, Jennylyn Mercado stressed that the government’s role is “to promote the welfare of this country sa kahit ano mang sitwasyon.”
“That is why any progress or positive action na nagawa nila ay hindi na kailangan bigyang puri dahil yun naman talaga ang trabaho nila,” she added.
Instead of praising Duterte’s admin, she gave recognition to the new heroes – the nurses, doctors, soldiers, nurses, and other coronavirus frontliners. She said “Saludo po kami sa inyo. Maraming maraming Salamat.”
