Jennylyn Mercado Defends Kapamilya Network
JENNYLYN MERCADO – Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado reminds netizens that there’s nothing wrong with speaking out.
The largest tv network in the Philippines, ABS-CBN went off the air after the National Telecommunications Commission issued a cease and desist order on May 5. On July 10, the House Franchise Committee rejected the company’s request for a 25-year franchise.
Lots of celebrities expressed their dismay on social media. Kapamilya network also received support from GMA-7 artists. In a previous article, Kapuso network’s ‘Saksi’ delivered a solidarity extro for ABS-CBN.
Last May, GMA-7 star Jennylyn Mercado defended the Kapamilya network against trolls and bashers. She told her followers to respect the opinion of other people.

On Monday, July 13, Jennylyn Mercado once again took to her social media to defend the tv network from “cruel people.” She addressed those who try to silence her. In a series of Tweets, the prominent actress shared “One quick reminder to the people na nagrereply ng “shhh”, “shut up” o “tumahimik ka nilang”, at “huwag ka mangelam…”
“Respecting other people’s opinion is a value you seem to have forgotten,” she added.
Although she’s not a talent of ABS-CBN, Jennylyn Mercado, sympathized to the media giant and its employees. She’s clearly brokenhearted after the lawmakers junked the franchise renewal of the Kapamilya network.
“Kamusta na pala kayong lahat? At higit sa lahat kamusta na kaya yung nagMananita, yung Senador na kailangan ng compassion, at ang blogger na mag mass gathering?” she wrote.
