Stars To Hold Virtual Concert Alongside Duterte SONA 2020
DUTERTE SONA 2020 – As President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivers his 5th State of the Nation Address (SONA), celebrities will gather for a virtual concert titled “Tinig ng Bayan: SONAgkaisa Concert.”
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte will deliver his 5th State of the Nation Address at 3 to 6 pm today, at the Batasang Pambansa. He said he will be physically present at the venue to deliver his speech amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Duterte will report the government’s plans in the coming years and the country’s status. The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), Department of Interior and Local Government, and the Philippine National Police prohibits mass gathering during the SONA.
Ina previous article, the PNP said they will arrest people who will stage a mass protest during Duterte’s SONA. PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said they implemented the no permit, no rally policy.
For the first time, Vice President Leni Robredo will not be physically present at Batasang Pambansa. During her radio interview, she said she even cleared her schedule just to hear the President’s speech. She revealed that she was invited but via Zoom only.
Based on a report from Philstar, Original Pilipino Music (OPM) artists and actors will gather today for a virtual concert titled “Tinig ng Bayan: SONAgkaisa Concert.” The organizers said the event has been “brought together for the love of country and the greater good.”
The concert will feature the likes of Angel Locsin, Frankie Pangilinan, Jim Paredes, Martin Nievera, Bituin Escalante, Agot Isidro, Boboy Garovillo, Iza Calzado, Enchong Dee, Johnoy Danao, Kean Cipriano, Mylene Dizon, the League of Aktor, Moonstar 88, and Bullet Dumas, among many others.
According to the report, the online event was touted as one of the biggest celebrity events this year. “Tinig ng Bayan: SONAgkaisa Concert” will be live-streamed on Radyo Katipunan 87.9 Facebook Page.
