Fake Cigarettes Worth P2.6 Million Seized By Bureau Of Customs

FAKE CIGARETTES – Fake cigarettes which is worth at around P2.6 million have been seized by the Bureau of Customs over the weekend.

Aside from the cigarettes, the raiding team composed of the agents of the the Enforcement Security Service and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service recovered 86 master cases of the counterfeit items. | Image from: PhilStar

This was followed by a raid on a warehouse in Santiago in Isabela.

Also seized by the BOC were 86 master cases of the counterfeit items. The operation was conducted by agents of the the Enforcement Security Service and Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service.

The operation was based on an order that was issued by Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

Based on the report, the authorities have yet to conduct an inventory of the items to determine the items’ amount and quantity. However, during the raid, no one was nabbed.

On July 3, the bureau seized smuggled cigarettes worth at about P93 million at the Port of Subic.

The smuggled cigarettes were declared as LED (light-emitting diode) lights.

A day earlier, it also confiscated at around P1.1 million worth of various branded watches.

The shipment was seized at the Port of NAIA from a an undeclared shipment from the US.
